NW at 10-15 mph; with gusts as high as 25 mph. * Relative Humidity... Falling below 25% by early afternoon. * Temperatures... 30s to 40s. * Impacts... With elevated winds and low relative humidities, extremely dangerous fire weather conditions are possible.

Payne Campground is located on the shores of Allatoona Lake, one of the most visited Corps of Engineers lakes in the nation with nearly 7 million annual visitors. The campground provides 57 reservable campsites conveniently situated near a swimming beach and fishing dock. Sites include a mix of tent-only sites without electric hookups and RV sites with electric service. Allatoona Lake offers 270 miles of shoreline for picnicking, swimming, camping, hunting, fishing, boating and wildlife observation. The lake is annually stocked with bass, crappie, bream, gar and catfish, making it a popular destination for anglers. Fishing jetties are available at numerous locations around the lake. Located only 35 miles from Atlanta on the Etowah River, the lake provides a peaceful retreat from urban life in the green rolling hills of Georgia. Nearby attractions include the historic downtown areas of Acworth and Woodstock, Red Top Mountain State Park with over 15 miles of trails, eight marinas offering boat rentals, the Etowah Indian Mounds, Booth Western Art Museum, and Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield. The Allatoona Lake Visitor Center overlooks the dam and features exhibits on local history from Native Americans through the Civil War to present times.
