Located just 35 miles from Atlanta in the green rolling hills of Georgia, Payne Campground provides a convenient lakeside camping experience on Allatoona Lake. The campground features 57 spacious campsites ranging from standard electric sites to tent-only and designated RV sites, all within easy reach of the dock and swimming beach. Sites include 50-amp electric hookups, water hookups, fire rings, and picnic areas. Allatoona Lake is one of the most frequently visited Corps of Engineers lakes in the nation, drawing nearly 7 million visitors annually. The lake spans 270 miles of shoreline along the Etowah River and is stocked with bass, crappie, bream, gar, and catfish. Fishing jetties are available at numerous locations, and the campground provides dock access for boaters. Nearby attractions include Red Top Mountain State Park with 15+ miles of trails, historic Etowah Indian Mounds, the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, and the downtowns of Acworth and Woodstock. Eight marinas on the lake offer boat rentals and dining options.

Directions

From I-75 take exit 277 and go east on Highway 92. After a mile, turn left onto Hunt Road, which becomes Kellogg Creek Road. The campground entrance is on the right after two miles. Physical address: 2495 Kellogg Creek Road, Acworth, GA 30102.
