About

McKaskey Creek Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility located on Allatoona Lake in Bartow County, Georgia, approximately 45 miles north of Atlanta. The 11-mile-long lake and its 270 miles of shoreline offer excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and kayaking. The campground features 51 sites, including 32 with 50-amp electric and water hookups and primitive tent-only sites without pads. The rolling terrain around the lake is covered in dense hardwood forest including oak, maple, blackgum, dogwood, magnolia, and hickory trees. Wildlife is abundant, with white-tailed deer, foxes, raccoons, and occasional black bear sightings. Campground amenities include handicap-accessible flush restrooms, hot showers, a dump station, coin-operated laundry, a sandy swimming beach, playground, and boat ramp. Nearby attractions include Red Top Mountain State Park with over 15 miles of trails, the Tellus Science Museum, Etowah Indian Mounds, and Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville. Eight marinas on Allatoona Lake offer boat rentals and dining options.
