The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Affected Area... North and central Georgia * Timing... This afternoon into early evening. * Winds... NW at 10-15 mph; with gusts as high as 25 mph. * Relative Humidity... Falling below 25% by early afternoon. * Temperatures... 30s to 40s. * Impacts... With elevated winds and low relative humidities, extremely dangerous fire weather conditions are possible.

McKaskey Creek Campground is situated on Allatoona Lake along the Etowah River, a tributary of the Coosa River. Located just 45 miles north of Atlanta in Bartow County, this U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground provides a peaceful lakeside retreat with 51 campsites, 32 of which offer electric and water hookups. Some premium sites feature water views. The 11-mile long Allatoona Lake offers 270 miles of shoreline for boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. The campground features a boat ramp, picnic areas with grills and tables, restrooms with showers, an RV dump station, and laundry facilities. The surrounding rolling hills are covered in dense hardwood forests of oak, maple, blackgum, dogwood, magnolia, and hickory, providing habitat for white-tailed deer, raccoons, foxes, and occasional black bears. Nearby attractions include Red Top Mountain State Park with over 15 miles of trails, the Tellus Science Museum and Etowah Indian Mounds in Cartersville, and Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield. Eight marinas on Allatoona Lake offer additional boat rentals and dining options.

Take I-75 North to Exit 290 (Canton/Rome/GA Hwy 20). Continue east onto GA 20, take an immediate right onto GA Spur 20 for 2 miles, then turn left onto McKaskey Creek Road and travel 1 mile to the campground. Physical address: 358 McKaskey Creek Rd, Cartersville, GA 30121.
