Open through November 2, 2026. Modern camping facilities operate from May through mid-October depending on weather. Year-round camping available with winter rates. Reservations accepted 3-180 days in advance through Nebraska State Parks reservation system. Some sites are first-come, first-served.
About
Pawnee Dam-site 14 Campground is located within Pawnee Lake State Recreation Area, a 740-acre lake managed by the Army Corps of Engineers and operated by Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Situated just 12 miles west of downtown Lincoln and accessible via I-80 Exit 388, this campground provides a convenient escape for both weekend campers and extended stays. The facility offers 207 total campsites spread across different areas. Electric sites feature 20, 30, and 50-amp service, while primitive non-electric options are also available. Modern amenities include flush restrooms, coin-operated hot showers, potable water, and a dump station. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grate. On-site you'll find a marina, convenience store, snack bar, boat ramps, fish cleaning station, archery range, and playground. Pawnee Lake itself supports diverse water recreation including fishing (channel catfish, largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie), swimming, boating, jet skiing, and water skiing. Multi-use trails accommodate hikers, bikers, and equestrians. A Nebraska state park entry permit is required in addition to camping fees.
