About

Paradise Cove Campground sits on the shores of Lake Isabella, an 11,000-acre reservoir marking the division between the Upper and Lower Kern Rivers in California's Sequoia National Forest. The campground offers beach-type camping with 138 sites divided between family units and RV sites, arranged in two sections. The upper section has back-in sites while the lower section offers side-by-side parking, all with lake views. The campground provides solid amenities including flush and vault toilets, showers, potable water, picnic tables, and fish cleaning stations. An RV dump station is available for $25 per use. No hookups are provided. Summer temperatures can reach the 100s, so come prepared. Lake Isabella is known for excellent trout fishing during colder months, with black and white crappie, bluegill, catfish, and largemouth bass also present. Water activities such as swimming, water skiing, and wind surfing are popular. The campground serves as a good base for day trips to the Trail of a Hundred Giants and numerous sequoia groves in Giant Sequoia National Monument.

Directions

From Bakersfield, California, take Highway 178 east to the town of Lake Isabella. Staying on 178 east, travel approximately 3 miles to Paradise Cove Campground.
