About
Camp 9 Lakeside Group Campgrounds occupies a prime lakefront position on the north shore of Lake Isabella, an 11,000-acre high desert reservoir in Sequoia National Forest. At 2,600 feet elevation, the campground offers 11 reservable group sites that can accommodate groups of 20-50 people depending on the site. The facility provides full shade, vault toilets, and potable water from hand pumps at most sites (Sites 3, 4, and 5 lack water access).
Each group site includes two picnic tables, a fire ring, and paved parking. Sites 1 and 2 also feature shade shelters. An RV dump station is available for $25 per use. The campground provides wheelchair-accessible beach access for mobility-impaired visitors. A fish cleaning station, volleyball court, and nearby boat ramp with floating dock serve water recreation needs.
Activities center on Lake Isabella with waterskiing, motorized and non-motorized boating, swimming, and fishing. The Upper Kern River nearby draws rafters and kayakers. Quiet hours run 10pm to 6am. ATVs and OHVs are prohibited in the campground. Campfires may be restricted during high fire danger periods. Dogs are allowed on a 6-foot leash.
