Ozone Campground
Closed — Closed for the winter season. Typically operates seasonally spring through fall. First-come, first-served basis when open.
About
Ozone Campground sits at the historic site of the Ozone Civilian Conservation Corps camp in the Ozark National Forest. The campground offers 8 primitive family camping units suitable for tents and small trailers, though no hookups or special RV facilities are provided. A reservable pavilion and individual picnic sites make this an attractive stop for day-use as well. The campground serves as a major trailhead for the Ozark Highlands Trail, one of the premier long-distance hiking trails in the United States, stretching 168 miles through the Ozark Mountains. The location also provides access to picturesque scenery along the Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway (Highway 21). Drinking water is available via a hand pump, and vault toilets are maintained on-site. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a modest nightly fee.
Directions
From Clarksville, take Arkansas Highway 21 north for 18 miles.
