About

Haw Creek Falls Campground is a free, primitive camping area located in the Ozark National Forest, surrounded by beautiful mature hardwood forest along a small mountain stream featuring picturesque waterfalls, rocks, and bluffs. The campground offers 9 designated family campsites, each equipped with picnic tables and fire pits. An accessible trail leads to Haw Creek Falls, making the waterfall easily viewable from the campground. The area provides excellent access to the Ozark Highlands Trail, which passes through the campground, and is located near the Big Piney Wild and Scenic River. Fishing opportunities are available in the stream. The campground features vault toilets but no potable water, so visitors must bring their own drinking water. There are no trash services, requiring campers to pack out all waste. Access to the campground requires crossing a low-water bridge at the entrance. The area is subject to flash flooding during wet weather, and the campground may temporarily close during periods of exceptionally heavy rainfall. Visitors are responsible for monitoring weather conditions and taking appropriate precautions. The removal of the gate does not indicate the area is safe during changing weather conditions.
