About
Ozark Campground is nestled along the Buffalo National River in the Ozark Mountains, approximately 4 miles north of Jasper, Arkansas. The campground features 31 drive-in sites suitable for tents and primitive RV camping, set against a backdrop of high riverside limestone bluffs and dense forests. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern hook. The 36.5-mile Buffalo River Trail passes through the area, and the river section from Erbie to Ozark offers a serene 5.4-mile paddle through shaded pools and swimming holes. From March 13 through November 15, reservations are required through Recreation.gov, with sites costing $20 per night for up to 6 people. Flush restrooms and potable water spigots are available during this period. A day-use pavilion seating up to 100 people with electricity, grills, and restrooms is available for $25 per day. During the off-season from November 16 through March 12, camping is free and first-come, first-served, though only a vault toilet remains open with limited servicing. The campground accommodates RVs and trailers but offers no hookups or dump station. Cell phone service is unreliable, so visitors should make reservations before arrival. Pets must be leashed at all times. The area provides excellent opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking, and stargazing.
