About

Erbie Campground is situated along Buffalo National River under towering bluffs, offering a rustic wilderness camping experience in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. The campground provides 14 drive-in campsites, several walk-in tent-only sites, and 5 group sites that accommodate 10-25 people each. All individual and walk-in sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis, while three of the group sites can be reserved by calling Tyler Bend Visitor Center. This free campground offers basic amenities without modern conveniences. There are no electrical hookups or water connections, making it ideal for tent campers and self-sufficient RVers seeking an authentic outdoor experience. Flush restrooms and water spigots are operational from March 15 through November 14, while vault toilets remain available throughout the year. The campground is accessible via a 6-mile gravel road with one hairpin curve off County Road 79, north of Jasper. Erbie provides direct access to the Buffalo River, a 135-mile free-flowing waterway lined with bluffs up to 440 feet high. The river offers excellent opportunities for canoeing, fishing for smallmouth bass and goggle-eye, and swimming. Campers can enjoy dead and down wood for campfires in designated fire rings. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and limits stays to 14 consecutive days, with a maximum of 6 people per individual site.

Directions

From Jasper, take Highway 7 north for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto County Road 79 and continue 6 miles down a gravel road with one hairpin curve to reach Erbie Campground.
