Erbie Campground occupies a stunning stretch of the upper Buffalo River, tucked beneath towering limestone bluffs that define the Ozark landscape. The campground serves as a launch point for paddlers tackling the serene 5.4-mile float to Ozark and connects to the Buffalo River Trail for hikers exploring the backcountry. The 27 individual sites split between 14 drive-in and 13 walk-in options, all first-come, first-served with no reservations required. Each site features a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern hook. Drive-in sites accommodate tents or smaller RVs, though no hookups or dump stations exist. Five group sites for 10-25 people are reservable through Recreation.gov up to one year in advance. Seasonal amenities run March 15 through November 14, including flush restrooms and water spigots. Vault toilets remain accessible year-round. The campground charges $20 per night during the operating season (March 13 - November 15), with free camping during winter months on a first-come, first-served basis.

Directions

From Jasper, Arkansas, take Highway 7 north approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto County Road 79 and continue approximately 6 miles down a gravel road with one hairpin curve to reach the campground.
