Kyles Landing Campground sits along the Buffalo River in the upper district of Buffalo National River, offering a remote and rugged camping experience for tent campers. The campground features 33 sites spread across shaded areas and open fields, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern hook. A boat launch for non-motorized watercraft provides access to popular paddling routes downstream to Erbie or upstream from Steel Creek. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with fees charged from mid-March through mid-November when flush restrooms and potable water are available. During winter months, the campground remains open for free primitive camping with only a vault toilet available. RVs, camping trailers, motorhomes, and popup campers are prohibited. Access requires navigating a 3-mile gravel road that is steep and rough. The National Park Service strongly recommends a high-clearance, 4-wheel-drive vehicle. The campground is located off Highway 74, approximately 12 miles east of Ponca and 8 miles west of Jasper, Arkansas.

Directions

From Highway 74, turn onto Kyles Landing Road approximately 12 miles east of Ponca or 8 miles west of Jasper, Arkansas. Follow the 3-mile gravel access road to the campground. High-clearance, 4-wheel-drive vehicle strongly recommended due to steep and rough road conditions.
