About
Overlook Day Use is a scenic day-use area at the north end of the dam at Lake O' the Pines in Marion County, Texas, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The site offers expansive views of the lake's main body, where visitors can watch boating activities including skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing. On clear days, nearly 4 miles of lake are visible from the overlook. The area features a large open field surrounded by rolling hills and tall pines, making it ideal for group gatherings. A pavilion with electric and water hookups is available for rental. A boat ramp provides access to the lake with dedicated parking for boats and trailers, and there is excellent shoreline fishing as well as access to a fishing dock. This is a day-use only facility with no overnight camping. Nearby attractions include Lakeside Day Use and Buckhorn Creek Campground, which is located approximately 100 yards before the Overlook Day Use entrance.
