About

Lakeside Day Use Area is a day-use recreation facility managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the shores of Lake O' the Pines in Marion County, Texas. The 18,700-acre lake was created by Ferrell's Bridge Dam on Big Cypress Bayou and has become a recreational destination in the Ark-La-Tex Pineywoods region. The facility features a large group picnic pavilion with electric hookups that can accommodate up to 100 guests, making it ideal for family reunions, company picnics, and group events. Additional amenities include a boat ramp, dock, sandy swimming beaches, volleyball court, and disc golf area. Popular activities include boating, fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing. The lake supports largemouth, spotted, and white bass along with crappie, catfish, and sunfish. Birdwatchers can spot numerous species including bald eagles, which are common in fall and winter.
