About

Johnson Creek Camp sits along the banks of Lake O' the Pines in Marion County, Texas, within the Ark-La-Tex region of the Pineywoods. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this established campground provides 63 RV campsites with water and electric hookups (50 amp and 15 amp service available) and 22 tent campsites, 10 of which have electrical connections. A reservable group camping area offers 12 additional RV sites with a covered picnic shelter, restrooms, and showers. Every campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, lantern pole, and access to potable water and trash receptacles. Five restroom buildings serve the campground, four of which have showers. An RV dump station is located near the entrance. The campground also features a boat ramp, fishing pier, swimming beach, volleyball court, and playground. Lake O' the Pines spans approximately 18,700 acres across five counties and offers fishing for largemouth, spotted, and white bass, crappie, catfish, and sunfish. Bald eagles are commonly sighted in fall and winter. Nearby attractions include the historic towns of Jefferson and Marshall, and Texas Wildflower Trail routes surround the lake.
