Open — The campground is currently open for reservations year-round. Park office hours are 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily. The park often reaches capacity and highly recommends advance reservations for both camping and day use.

Caddo Lake State Park provides access to one of Texas's most unique natural landscapes, where bald cypress trees draped with Spanish moss tower over the Big Cypress Bayou. The park sits on the shores of the 26,810-acre Caddo Lake, which harbors more than 70 fish species and offers exceptional paddling opportunities through its maze of bayous and sloughs. The park features 46 campsites divided into three areas: Woodpecker Hollow with full hookup sites, Armadillo Run and Squirrel Haven with water and electric sites, and Mill Pond with water-only sites located near the lakeshore. Historic Civilian Conservation Corps cabins built in the 1930s are available for rent, ranging from two to six-person accommodations. Camping amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, and nearby restrooms with showers. Recreational opportunities include paddling on Saw Mill Pond and the Big Cypress Bayou, with canoe rentals available at the park office and access to the Hell's Half Acre Paddling Trail for experienced paddlers. A boat ramp and fishing pier provide lake access. The park's 2.5 miles of hiking trails wind through the forest, with the Caddo Forest Trail featuring steps leading to a historic CCC pavilion. A park store sells gifts and souvenirs. Visitors should be aware that alligators inhabit the park and take appropriate safety precautions.

Directions

From Dallas, take I-20 East to Marshall, then follow TX-43 North for about 15 miles to Karnack. Turn onto Park Road 2, which leads directly to the park entrance. From Shreveport, drive south on LA-1 to Mooringsport, then west on TX-43 to the park, a roughly 45-minute trip.
