About
Otter Creek State Park occupies the shores of Otter Creek Reservoir in Piute County, approximately 220 miles south of Salt Lake City and 44 miles north of Bryce Canyon National Park. At 6,350 feet elevation, the park provides a high-desert camping experience with cooler temperatures than lower-elevation Utah destinations. The reservoir supports rainbow trout, brown trout, and smallmouth bass populations, making it a destination fishery. Summer season rentals include fishing boats, canoes, paddleboards, and mountain bikes. The campground operates year-round with over 50 sites. Twenty-one beachfront sites offer electric and water hookups, while additional pull-through sites accommodate RVs without hookups. Tent camping sites round out the options. Modern restrooms with individual showers serve the campground, and a dump station is available for RV waste disposal. Two rental cabins sleeping up to six guests each and a group-use pavilion expand lodging options. Beyond fishing and camping, the park serves as a gateway to three ATV trails including the renowned Paiute Trail System. Spring and fall bring migratory birds to the reservoir, attracting birders. The remote location and dark skies make for excellent stargazing conditions.
