About

Barkcamp State Park's day use shelters provide excellent facilities for group gatherings in a scenic natural setting. The park features three picnic shelterhouses that can be reserved for events and gatherings. Located in Belmont County's Appalachian highlands, the 1,005-acre park surrounds the 117-acre Belmont Lake and offers mature woodlands, open meadows, and abundant wildlife. The shelters are situated among eight picnic areas throughout the park, each providing tables, grills, water, and restrooms. Visitors can enjoy nearby amenities including a 700-foot swimming beach, hiking trails, bridle trails, and fishing opportunities. The park's rolling sandstone hills and forested terrain provide a glimpse of Ohio's pre-settlement landscape. These day use facilities are ideal for family reunions, group outings, and special events. While staying overnight is not permitted at the day use shelters, the park does offer full campground facilities in separate areas for those wishing to extend their visit.
