About
Ring Mill Campground is a quiet, primitive campground set on the grounds of a 19th-century mill and farmstead in Monroe County, Ohio. While the mill itself no longer stands, the stone house built by its original owner in 1846 remains intact and holds a place on the National Register of Historic Places, lending a unique historical character to this small camping area. The campground features just three campsites operated on a first-come, first-served basis at $10 per night. Facilities are minimal: a vault toilet and picnic shelter are provided, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The site doubles as a canoe access point to the Little Muskingum River, making it a convenient base for paddlers exploring this scenic waterway. Hikers will appreciate the proximity to the North Country Trail, which passes near the campground and offers opportunities for day hikes or longer backpacking trips through the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio's Wayne National Forest.
