About

Orleans Trail Campground is a shaded USACE facility located on Stockton Lake in the scenic Ozark Mountains of southwestern Missouri. The campground features 118 sites divided into north and south sections. Orleans Trail North contains non-electric sites, shower houses, and the swimming beach, while Orleans Trail South offers non-electric individual sites, a group camping area, and an equestrian trailhead where horses can be kept. The lake and surrounding landscape provide nearly 300 miles of shoreline for exploration. Stockton Lake is known for excellent fishing, with populations of smallmouth and largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, walleye, catfish, and sunfish. Sail boating is especially popular, and the lake hosts several races throughout the year. The 15-mile Stockton Lake Equestrian Trail connects Hawker Point and Orleans Trail Campgrounds, winding through rolling hills, native prairie grasses, and thick forests that turn crimson in autumn. The area supports abundant wildlife including wild turkey, great blue heron, deer, and bald eagles. The facility includes three shower houses, two dump stations, a boat ramp, and direct lake access. Orleans Trail Marina is located nearby with full marina services available.

Directions

From Stockton, Missouri, take State Highway 39 south approximately 1/2-mile to R.B. Road. Turn left and drive approximately 1/2-mile. Turn right on Blake Street, continue about 1/2-mile, and follow signs to the park area.
