About
Hawker Point Campground is a shaded Corps of Engineers facility situated on Stockton Lake in the rolling hills and forests of Missouri's Ozark Mountains. The campground contains 62 sites divided into three loops, with a mix of electric and non-electric options. Several non-electric sites are located near the equestrian trailhead where horses can be kept. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station that operate during the main season. Stockton Lake spans nearly 300 miles of shoreline and is particularly popular for sailboating, hosting several races each year. The campground's boat ramp provides convenient water access for anglers targeting smallmouth and largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, walleye, catfish, and sunfish. The Stockton Lake Equestrian Trail offers approximately 15 miles of riding between Hawker Point and Orleans Trail Campgrounds, winding through native prairie grasses and thick forests. The surrounding landscape transforms into crimson hues during autumn and hosts abundant wildlife year-round. Wild turkey, white-tailed deer, great blue herons, and wintering bald eagles inhabit the area. Three full-service marinas around the lake offer boat rentals, fuel, fishing tackle, and restaurants for additional convenience.
Directions
