About
Hawker Point Campground occupies a shaded peninsula on Stockton Lake, one of Missouri's premier sailing and fishing destinations with nearly 300 miles of shoreline. The campground offers 62 sites across three loops: Loop A with 14 electric sites, Loop B with 23 mixed electric and non-electric sites, and Loop C with 10 non-electric sites near the equestrian trailhead where horses can be kept. The lake supports excellent fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, white bass, walleye, and catfish. Sailing is particularly popular, with several races hosted annually. The surrounding landscape features native prairie grasses, rolling hills, and hardwood forests that turn crimson in autumn. Wildlife includes wild turkey, great blue heron, white-tailed deer, and bald eagles, with winter eagle-watching events drawing visitors. Three full-service marinas around the lake offer boat rentals, fuel, fishing tackle, and restaurants. The 15-mile Stockton Lake Equestrian Trail winds along the shoreline between Hawker Point and Orleans Trail Campgrounds.
Directions
From Stockton, Missouri, take State Highway 39 south for 6.2 miles, turn left on Highway H and continue for 5.2 miles to the park entrance.
