Due to cold weather conditions, water is turned off at several camp sites during the winter. If you arrive after 4:30pm and your water is turned off, please wait until morning to contact the Campground Host at the Contact Station. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please do not attempt to turn on the water as this will damage the pedestal.

About
Oregon Inlet Campground is Cape Hatteras National Seashore's northernmost campground, providing barrier island camping within easy distance of Nags Head to the north and world-class fishing at Oregon Inlet to the south. The campground features 107 sites, including 23 with electric and sewer hookups for RVs. All sites include paved parking pads, picnic tables, and charcoal grills on sandy, unshaded terrain. Located on the east side of the barrier island, campsites offer a short walk through Sea Oats-covered dunes to the expansive Atlantic Ocean. The beach is accessible on foot or by vehicle with a Cape Hatteras Off-Road Vehicle Permit. Popular activities include fishing, swimming, surfing, birding, and shell hunting. Sound-side opportunities are available at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center boat launch across Highway 12, including crabbing, clamming, paddle-boarding, boating, and fishing. The campground operates year-round with flush toilets available throughout. Hot showers are available seasonally. A dump and water fill station are located across Highway 12 at Oregon Inlet Fishing Center at no charge for campers. The campground accommodates RVs and trailers up to 40 feet with back-in parking. Oregon Inlet is the only Cape Hatteras National Seashore campground offering group camping for 7-30 people. Nearby attractions include the historic Bodie Island Lighthouse and Coquina Beach Day Use Area.
