About
Long Point Cabin Camp is situated on North Core Banks within Cape Lookout National Seashore, just off the mainland of North Carolina. The historic camp has been a favorite destination for fishermen and beach enthusiasts for many years, offering a unique experience on these remote barrier islands. The camp can only be reached by boat, providing both privacy and adventure. Visitors may cross scenic Core Sound to North Core Banks in their personal boat or use the vehicle ferry service to bring personal vehicles across for driving on the oceanside beaches. The location offers 112 miles of uninhabited shoreline ranging from calm sound waters to pounding surf. Cape Lookout's sandy beaches provide excellent opportunities for fishing, exploring, shelling, swimming, birding, and relaxing. Spring and fall are considered by many to offer some of the best fishing on the Atlantic Coast. The barrier islands consist mainly of bare beaches with low dunes covered by scattered grasses, flat grasslands bordered by dense vegetation, and large expanses of salt marsh along the sound.
