Old Town Campground occupies a prime position on the east shore of Perry Lake, one of the region's premier sailing and fishing destinations. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility provides 37 campsites ranging from full-service electric sites with water hookups in a shaded loop to primitive spots along the grassy shoreline. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, and the campground features shower buildings, vault restrooms, and a sanitary dump station. Perry Lake covers 12,000 surface acres with 159 miles of shoreline, earning it the nickname "paradise on the plains." Anglers come for white crappie, flathead catfish, channel catfish, walleye, white bass, and sauger. The nearby 29-mile Perry Lake Trail offers hiking from gentle southern slopes to rugged northern terrain. Approximately 27,000 acres of adjacent public land support hunting for turkey, deer, quail, pheasant, and waterfowl. The campground enforces a gate closure policy on weekends and holidays from 10 PM to 6 AM with no late entry permitted. Sites accommodate RVs up to 70 feet and allow up to 10 people, 3 vehicles, or one RV plus one tent. Checkout is 4 PM, and stays are limited to 14 consecutive nights per site.
