Bloomington East Park is one of the premier camping destinations at Clinton Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District. The park encompasses multiple campground areas including Cedar Ridge, Hickory/Walnut, and Oak Campgrounds for individual family camping, plus Elm and Ash Group Camps that accommodate groups up to 75 people. With over 300 campsites, the facility offers options ranging from primitive tent sites to full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp electric service and water connections. Cedar Ridge and Hickory/Walnut Campgrounds feature the most developed amenities including flush toilets, hot showers, and nearby dump station access. Each campsite includes a fire ring, and picnic tables are available throughout the park. Group camps offer vault toilets, water hydrants, group shelters, volleyball pits, and horseshoe pits. Clinton Lake spans 7,000 surface acres and offers excellent fishing for crappie, walleye, channel catfish, and white bass. Three boat ramps are located within short driving distance of the campgrounds. The park also features Bloomington Beach with a large sandy swimming area. Wildlife viewing opportunities include bald eagles, white-tailed deer, Canada geese, and wild turkey.

Directions

From Lawrence, Kansas, take 6th Street west for 4 miles. Turn left onto County Road 442 and continue 5 miles to Stull, Kansas. Turn left onto County Road 1023 and continue about 6 miles to County Road 6, turn left, and go 4 miles through the town of Clinton. Follow directional signs to the park.
