Longview Campground occupies a dramatic ridgeline position overlooking Perry Lake, offering group camping in a lush Kansas forest setting. The campground is divided into two distinct areas: the upper loop features 26 individual 30-amp electric sites nestled in heavy woods at the top of a bluff, ideal for large family reunions or group events. The lower loop is entirely primitive, providing a picnic shelter, fire pit, and vault toilet for groups seeking a more rustic experience. Perry Lake has earned the nickname "paradise on the plains" with its 159 miles of shoreline and 12,000 surface acres. The lake is renowned as one of the best sailing destinations in the region and offers excellent fishing for white crappie, flathead catfish, walleye, white bass, and channel catfish. The surrounding 27,000 acres of public land support hunting for turkey, deer, quail, pheasant, and waterfowl. Directly adjacent to Longview is an 18-hole disc golf course featuring elevation changes on nearly every hole and plenty of trees to challenge players of all skill levels. Hikers can access the 29-mile Perry Lake loop trail, while equestrian trails are available on the lake's west side near Perry State Park.
