Open

Open for the 2026 season as of May 8. Operates early May through Labor Day. Single sites are $30/night; senior and access pass holders receive 50% off camping fees.

About

Pine Lake Campground occupies a scenic spot on the shores of Pine Lake, a 156-acre glacially-carved lake in Michigan's Manistee National Forest. The campground sits along the federally-protected western shore, where swampy wetlands provide habitat for bald eagles that have nested in the area for years. The eastern shore is lined with private cabins visible through the pine and hardwood forest. The day-use area features a gravel-bottomed beach that stays shallow far out into the lake, making it excellent for swimming. A boat launch provides access for anglers and paddlers. Facilities are rustic: vault toilets and drinking water from a hand pump. The campground operates seasonally from early May through Labor Day. Sites are spread through a wooded setting that provides semi-privacy. The campground is reached via a dirt road that terminates at the lake, offering a secluded feel despite being only about 20 miles east of Manistee.

Directions

From Manistee, travel east on M-55 for 17 miles. Turn right and travel south on Bosschem Rd./CR-F669 for 1 mile. Turn right and travel west on Pine Lake Rd. for 3 miles. Road terminates at the site.
