About

Built in 1910, Olallie Meadows Cabin is a historic structure nestled in the Olallie Lake Scenic Area of Mount Hood National Forest. The cabin sits just past the toilet facility at Olallie Meadow Campground, surrounded by high Cascade meadows and subalpine forest. The cabin is currently undergoing restoration and is closed for overnight use. Visitors may access the site for day use only, from sunrise to sunset. No potable water or restroom facilities are available at the cabin itself. Roads to the area are typically closed during winter months due to snow. Access requires navigating Forest Service roads from Estacada, including a mix of paved and gravel surfaces. The remote location at approximately 4,500 feet elevation makes this a seasonal destination best suited for summer and early fall visits.

Directions

From Estacada, OR, drive south on Highway 224 for 45 miles. The road becomes Forest Service Road 46. Turn east onto Forest Service Road 4690 and drive 6 miles on pavement, then about 3 miles on gravel, to a junction with Forest Road 4220. Turn south and continue just over 1 mile to Olallie Meadow Campground. The cabin is just past the toilet for the campground.
