About

Olallie Meadow Campground provides a remote, rustic camping experience in the Mt. Hood National Forest, nestled just north of Mt. Jefferson. The area offers incredible views and wonderful solitude for those seeking a quieter wilderness experience away from more developed campgrounds. The historic Olallie Meadows Cabin, built in 1910, sits adjacent to the campground. Access to the campground involves driving south from Estacada on Highway 224 for 45 miles until it becomes Forest Service Road 46, then turning east onto Forest Service Road 4690 for 6 paved miles followed by approximately 3 miles on gravel to the junction with Forest Road 4220, where you continue south just over 1 mile to reach the campground. Roads are closed during winter months due to snow. This is a primitive camping area with no potable water and limited facilities. Campers should come prepared with adequate water supplies and expect a backcountry atmosphere. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Credit and debit cards are not accepted; payment must be made by cash or check.
