About

Oconee Point Campground occupies 70 acres along the northern end of Lake Hartwell on the Seneca River, offering a peaceful lakeside camping experience managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The campground features a dense cover of pines and mixed hardwoods providing ample shade across 70 campsites, all equipped with water and electric hookups (30 and 50 amp service). The property includes five comfort stations with three offering showers, a dump station, and modern paved roads throughout. Recreational amenities include a boat ramp with courtesy dock for easy lake access, a designated swim beach, and two playgrounds for families. Lake Hartwell's 962-mile shoreline provides excellent opportunities for fishing largemouth bass, striped bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. The lake's calm coves and open waters accommodate all types of boating from canoeing to water skiing. Located just a short drive from Clemson and Clemson University, the campground offers convenient access to nearby services including grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. The facility operates seasonally and enforces a gate schedule opening at 7:00 AM and locking at 10:00 PM. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited, and camping is limited to 14 days within any 30-day period.

From Interstate 85 in South Carolina, take exit 11 onto State Highway 24 towards Townville. About 1.5 miles past Townville, turn right onto Coneross Creek Road. Proceed 2.5 miles and turn right onto South Friendship Road. Drive 3 miles to park entrance on left at 200 Oconee Point Road, Seneca, SC 29678.
