About
Coneross Park sits on a moderately sloping, heavily wooded 136-acre parcel along Hartwell Lake, a 56,000-acre reservoir straddling the Georgia-South Carolina border. The campground is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and provides 106 public campsites: 94 with full water and 50-amp electric hookups, and 12 primitive sites with impact pads only. Sites accommodate RVs up to 50 feet, with a mix of pull-through and back-in driveways on gravel surfaces. Four comfort stations with flush toilets and hot showers serve the campground, along with two RV dump stations. The park features a boat ramp with courtesy dock, four playgrounds, and two designated swimming beaches along the shoreline. Campfires are permitted in designated fire rings using dead wood only. Hartwell Lake offers excellent fishing for largemouth bass, bream, crappie, catfish, striped bass, and hybrid bass. The campground is a short drive from Clemson, South Carolina, providing access to grocery stores, restaurants, and Clemson University.
