About

Crescent Group Campground occupies a 41-acre peninsula on Lake Hartwell with gentle slopes and scattered pine and mixed hardwood tree cover providing ample shade. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this facility is exclusively designated for group camping and features two separate loops that can be reserved individually or together. Loop A offers 10 sites and accommodates up to 100 people and 30 vehicles, while Loop B provides 22 sites with capacity for 220 people and 66 vehicles. All sites include full water and electric hookups. The campground includes two comfort stations, one equipped with showers, a dump station, two picnic shelters with water and electric service, and a playground. The gated entrance ensures complete privacy for groups, though the campground does not have a boat ramp or courtesy dock on site. Lake Hartwell's 962 miles of shoreline offer excellent opportunities for fishing largemouth bass, bream, crappie, catfish, striped and hybrid bass, as well as boating, water skiing, and swimming at designated beaches. The location provides convenient access to Clemson, South Carolina, just a short drive away.

Directions

From Hartwell, Georgia, take Highway 29 north for approximately 8 miles into South Carolina. Turn left onto Ginn Road, then take the first left onto Campers Way and continue straight to the campground. From Anderson, take Highway 29 south towards Hartwell; after the intersection with Highway 187, continue south until you see the sign for Crescent, located about 4 miles before the Georgia/South Carolina border.
