About

Lake Hartwell State Park Campground sits on the shores of the expansive 56,000-acre Lake Hartwell at the South Carolina-Georgia border near Fair Play. The campground is easily accessible from Interstate 85 and serves as a gateway to South Carolina's mountain country along the Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Highway. The camping area provides 109 paved sites with individual water and electrical hookups that accommodate RVs up to 40 feet in length, plus 13 walk-in tent sites featuring tent pads for a more secluded experience. For those seeking a hybrid camping experience, the park offers 8 unique single-room camper cabins. All camping areas provide convenient access to hot showers and flush restrooms. Lake Hartwell is renowned among anglers for its population of striped and hybrid bass, largemouth bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. The park features a 140-foot fishing pier, two boat ramps with a courtesy dock, and a three-quarter-mile nature trail along the lake. Additional amenities include a basketball court and a picnic shelter that accommodates groups up to 75 people. Reservations are made through the South Carolina State Parks system.
