About
Springfield Campground sits on 60 acres along the shores of Hartwell Lake, a 56,000-acre reservoir on the Georgia-South Carolina border. The campground features 79 sites with gravel pads, water hookups, and 50-amp electric service. Sites range from pull-through to back-in configurations, with many offering waterfront views. The mature Virginia pine and hardwood forest provides shade throughout. Facilities include six comfort stations (several with hot showers), a dump station, boat ramp with courtesy dock, designated swimming beach between sites 26-27, and three playgrounds. The lake is known for excellent fishing including largemouth bass, striped bass, crappie, and catfish. Boating, swimming, and water skiing are popular activities. The campground is located near Clemson, South Carolina, providing convenient access to restaurants, groceries, and Clemson University. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov. The entrance gate locks at 10 p.m. and reopens at 7 a.m., with no vehicle movement permitted during overnight hours.
