About

Broyles Recreation Area is a 24-acre day-use facility located on Hartwell Lake near Townville, South Carolina, managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The site is set on a gentle to moderate slope with primarily pine vegetation, providing a pleasant setting for lakeside recreation. Facilities include a 3-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock, making it a favorite launch point for large fishing tournaments throughout spring and summer. A designated swimming beach, fishing pier, and playground offer additional recreation options. The area has 14 picnic sites and a standard picnic shelter with water and electric service that can be reserved through Recreation.gov from April 1 through September 30. Important: This is a day-use only facility. No overnight camping is permitted. A comfort station with restrooms is available on-site. A $7 day-use fee per vehicle applies, payable via credit or debit card at automated fee stations. The America the Beautiful and Corps of Engineers Annual Passes are accepted.
