About

North Fork Campground is a small, picturesque campground located in the midst of old-growth forest in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The campground offers 9 quiet and secluded campsites, each equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Three sites accommodate RVs, while six are designated tent sites. The remote setting provides a peaceful escape for campers seeking solitude in a pristine forest environment. The campground offers easy access to Fish Lake, a premier fishing lake fed by over 45 underground volcanic streams with a 10 mph speed limit ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. A boat launch is available at nearby Fish Lake Campground. Hikers will find numerous trails within a short distance, including the Fish Lake Trail (directly across from the campground), High Lakes Trail, Brown Mountain Trail, the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, Sky Lakes Wilderness trails, and the Mount McLoughlin Trail system. Additional amenities including a cafe, small store, and firewood are available at nearby Fish Lake Resort. The campground is located at moderate elevation along Forest Road 37, approximately 28 miles from Medford via Highway 140. Bears frequent the area, so campers should maintain clean camps and store all food in closed containers. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations.

Directions

From Medford, take Highway 140 east (Lake of the Woods Highway) for approximately 28 miles. Turn right (south) on Forest Road 37 and continue for 1 mile. The campground entrance is on the right. From Ashland, follow Dead Indian Memorial Highway east for 22 miles, turn north (left) onto Forest Road 37, and continue 7 miles to the campground entrance on the left.
