About

North Fork Campground is a quiet, remote campground set amid towering old-growth forest in Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The campground features 9 campsites, including 8 standard nonelectric sites and 1 shelter site. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets and garbage service available. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Located just one mile off Highway 140 on Forest Road 37, the campground provides easy access to Fish Lake, a premier fishing destination fed by over 45 underground volcanic springs. A boat launch is available at nearby Fish Lake Campground, and the lake has a 10 mph speed limit, making it ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding. Hiking opportunities abound, with Fish Lake Trailhead directly across from the campground. Other nearby trails include the Pacific Crest Trail, Mount McLoughlin Trail, Brown Mountain Trail, and access to the Sky Lakes Wilderness. Fish Lake Resort offers a cafe, small store, and firewood for purchase.

Directions

From Medford, take OR-140 (Lake of the Woods Highway) east approximately 28 miles to Forest Road 37 on the right. Continue 1 mile on Forest Road 37 to the campground entrance on the right. From Ashland, follow Dead Indian Memorial Highway 22 miles east and turn left onto Forest Road 37, then continue 7 miles to the campground.
