About
Beaver Dam Group Campground is a semi-primitive group camping area nestled along Beaver Dam Creek in the old growth forests of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. This rustic site can accommodate groups up to 40 people and features 4 campsites including 3 tent sites and 1 small trailer site with a maximum length of 28 feet. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire pit.
The campground provides access to Beaver Dam Trail #1001, which explores two distinct habitats: a riparian area along the confluence of Beaver Dam Creek, Daley Creek, and Deadwood Creek, and old growth forest. The trail connects to nearby Daley Creek Campground, forming a partial loop through areas of grassy banks, false hellebore, and beaver ponds. Wildflowers abound along the creeks in early to mid-summer, and fall brings cool nights and crisp mornings perfect for star gazing.
Nearby recreation opportunities include hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, Brown Mountain Trail, and Fish Lake Trail. Road cyclists can loop on Forest Service Road 37 and Dead Indian Memorial Highway, while mountain bikers will enjoy the challenge of Brown Mountain Trail or the less demanding High Lakes Trail. Howard Prairie Lake, located 10 miles away, offers boating, fishing, and swimming. This is a pack-in, pack-out campground with no water or garbage service. Bears frequent the area, so campers should maintain clean camps and store food properly.
