About
Doe Point Campground sits on the northern shore of Fish Lake, a 483-acre reservoir supplied by over 45 underground volcanic streams. Located 39 miles east of Medford at 4,639 feet elevation, the campground features 25 standard sites and 5 walk-in tent sites nestled in old-growth fir and pine forest. Some sites offer lake views. Fish Lake maintains a 10 mph speed limit, with boat launches available at adjacent Fish Lake Campground and Fish Lake Resort.
The campground provides excellent access to hiking trails including Fish Lake Trail, High Lakes Trail, Brown Mountain Trail, and the Pacific Crest Trail. Sky Lakes Wilderness and Mount McLoughlin Trail are within an hour's drive. Fish Lake is known for quality fishing, though water levels may drop in August and September due to irrigation use. The southern shore offers views of Mount McLoughlin and a 2,000-year-old lava flow from Brown Mountain.
Fish Lake Resort is within walking distance and provides a convenience store, cafe, and lodging. The campground is operated by Rogue Recreation concessionaire. Crater Lake National Park is 53 miles north.
