About

Noontootla Dispersed Area encompasses primitive camping opportunities along FS Road 58, a gravel forest road that parallels Noontootla Creek through the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in Fannin County, Georgia. The area sits within the Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area, offering a true backcountry experience amid dense forest and a clear-running trout stream known for its cascades and small waterfalls. As dispersed camping, this area is far more primitive than developed campgrounds. There are no facilities, no potable water, and no trash service. Campers must practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out all garbage. This is free camping intended for those seeking solitude and a natural, unmanicured outdoor experience. Yellow signs mark areas where camping is prohibited along the corridor. Visitors should secure food properly due to black bear activity in the area. The 14-day camping limit applies, after which campers must vacate for 30 days before returning to the same area.

Directions

From Blue Ridge, Georgia, head south on GA-60. Turn right onto Doublehead Gap Road and continue to FS Road 58 (Noontootla Road). The dispersed camping corridor extends along FS 58 following Noontootla Creek.
