About
Rock Creek Dispersed Area is located within the Blue Ridge Ranger District of Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in Fannin County, Georgia. This dispersed camping area offers a primitive, rustic camping experience for visitors who prefer solitude and self-sufficiency over developed campground amenities. The area is situated near Rock Creek in a forested mountain setting less than two hours from Atlanta. As an undeveloped dispersed camping site, visitors should expect no formal facilities whatsoever. Campers must be fully self-contained and follow Leave No Trace principles, packing in all supplies and packing out all trash. The standard 14-day camping limit applies, with a 7-day waiting period before re-establishing a campsite on National Forest land. All food must be secured from bears, and campfires must be fully extinguished before leaving the site unattended.
