This includes the Tribal Lands of the Bad River Reservation, the Red Cliff Band and the northwestern county of the Lac du Flambeau Band. Other locations including Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. * WHEN...From this evening through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Around 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected to fall over several inches of lingering snowpack along the South Shore of Lake Superior. Namekagon Campground is a family-friendly campground that runs alongside its namesake lake at the headwaters of the Namekagon River in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The campground features 34 campsites surrounded by hardwood and hemlock forest, accommodating both tent and RV camping. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grill, and many sites offer electric hookups. The campground can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet or longer at most sites. Namekagon Lake is a 3,227-acre lake famous for its great fishery, offering excellent fishing for musky, pike, walleye, bass, and panfish. The recreation area includes a day-use area with picnic shelter, swimming beach, boat ramp, fishing pier, and basketball court. Accessible vault toilets and potable water from an electric well are available throughout the campground. The campground is an ideal base camp for outdoor recreation, with close proximity to the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail, CAMBA Mountain Bike Trails, North Country National Scenic Trail, and Porcupine Lake Wilderness Area. The one-mile Namekagon Nature Trail loop begins in the campground and features a hemlock island with old growth forest. Wildlife watching opportunities are abundant, with elk, eagles, loons, and other wildlife often spotted in the area.

Directions

From Cable, Wisconsin, take County Highway M east for 11 miles. Turn left on County Highway D and proceed about 6 miles to Forest Service Road 209. Turn left at the campground sign and drive less than a mile to the campground entrance.
