About

Mineral Lake Campground is a rustic, first-come, first-served campground located in the Great Divide District of Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in northern Wisconsin. The campground features 10 standard non-electric campsites situated within a mixed hardwoods forest, with several sites offering scenic views of the 256-acre Mineral Lake. The lake is a popular destination for anglers seeking musky, bass, walleye, and panfish. Eagle watching is a favorite activity, with an eagle's nest located on the west shore of the lake. A public boat ramp is available approximately one mile from the campground on Forest Road 187, providing access for both motorized and non-motorized watercraft. Swimming and boating are popular summer activities. The surrounding Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest offers hundreds of miles of trails for off-road vehicles, hiking, and mountain biking. The North Country National Scenic Trail, which spans thousands of miles from New York to North Dakota, is accessible nearby. Day trip destinations include Morgan Falls and St. Peter's Dome, the highest peak in the forest. The campground serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the forest's abundant outdoor recreation opportunities.
