Mussigbrod Campground is nestled in a dense stand of lodgepole pine on the western shore of 102-acre Mussigbrod Lake in Montana's Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. At 6,500 feet elevation, this 10-site campground provides a peaceful backcountry experience in the Wisdom Ranger District. The lake offers excellent fishing and a boat launch for non-motorized watercraft. Facilities include ADA-accessible vault toilets, potable water from hand pumps, picnic tables, and fire rings. There is no garbage service, so campers must pack out all trash. The campground accommodates trailers up to 30 feet in length. No hookups, showers, or dump station are available. Recreation opportunities include lake and stream fishing, non-motorized boating, wildlife viewing, and day hiking. Horse camping is also permitted. The area provides a remote setting with access to backcountry trails in the surrounding national forest.

Directions

From Wisdom, travel west 1 mile on Highway 43. Take Lower North Fork Road north 7.5 miles, then Forest Road 573 for 10 miles to the campground.
