About
Mussigbrod Campground is a developed Forest Service campground located on the western shore of 102-acre Mussigbrod Lake in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. Situated at 6,500 feet elevation in a dense lodgepole pine forest, the campground offers 10 campsites equipped with picnic tables, ADA fire rings, and trailer pads suitable for RVs up to 30 feet in length. The campground provides ADA-accessible vault toilets and hand pump drinking water. A boat launch provides access to Mussigbrod Lake for non-motorized boating and fishing opportunities, including ice fishing in winter months when the lake is frozen. The area is popular for wildlife viewing, day hiking, and horse camping. Campers must pack out all trash as there is no garbage service available. Access to the campground requires traveling west from Wisdom on Highway 43 for 1 mile, then north on Lower North Fork Road for 7.5 miles, followed by Forest Road 573 for 10 miles to reach the site. The campground operates seasonally from mid-June through September.
