Northern and Intermountain Regions Salmon Wild and Scenic River: Occupancy and Use

This order enacts visitor use restrictions for activities within the 80-mile-long wild segment of the Salmon Wild & Scenic River corridor, including a one-quarter mile buffer from the river, as required by the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area Management Plan (November 2003).

About

Jennings Camp Campground is a free, primitive campground situated on the scenic banks of the East Fork Bitterroot River in the Bitterroot National Forest near Sula, Montana. The campground offers 4 first-come, first-served campsites in a timbered mountain setting, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. An accessible vault toilet serves the campground. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out facility with no potable water, no hookups, and no garbage service. Campers should bring all necessary water supplies. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 20 feet in length. Camping is limited to 16 consecutive days, after which campers must relocate at least 5 miles away. A Food Storage Order is in effect from March 1 through December 1 annually due to bear activity in the area. Quiet hours are observed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and pets must be kept on a leash within the campground.

Directions

From Sula, MT, head northwest 0.2 miles on Highway 93. Turn northeast on East Fork Road (County Road 472). Continue approximately 10 miles. The campground is on the south side of the road.
