About
Sibley State Park's Equestrian Campground is a specialized camping area designed for riders and their horses, featuring nine campsites with tie lines, vault toilets, and seasonal water access. Located near Henschien Lake in west-central Minnesota, the campground serves as a base for exploring seven miles of designated horseback riding trails that wind through the park's diverse landscape of forests, prairies, and lakes. All horseback riding trails within the 2,936-acre park begin and end at the Horse Trail Center near Henschien Lake, making the equestrian campground ideally positioned for trail access. Riders can explore varied terrain featuring oak, red cedar, ironwood, green ash, aspen, maple, and basswood forests while potentially spotting white-tailed deer, red and gray fox, coyotes, and other wildlife. The equestrian area is situated in a grassy field southwest of Lake 21, providing an open setting for horse camping.
