About

Molly's Falls Pond State Park encompasses over 1,000 acres of forestland surrounding a 411-acre reservoir about 15 miles from Barre in north-central Vermont. The park's 8 remote campsites are accessible exclusively by boat, offering a true backcountry camping experience without the hike. Each site provides a tent pad, picnic table, fire ring, and nearby moldering toilet. The reservoir supports excellent fishing for rainbow trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass, northern pike, pickerel, and yellow perch. A paved boat launch operated by Vermont Fish & Wildlife on Route 2 in Cabot provides lake access. Swimming is permitted from the shoreline but not at the boat launch. The park also features ten remote picnic sites and two fishing platforms. Nearby Groton State Forest offers additional recreation, and the Groton Nature Center provides interpreter-led programs including night hikes, nature crafts, and campfire programs during the operating season.

Directions

From Barre, head north on US-302 to Groton. Turn north onto Route 232, then west onto Vermont Route 2 toward Cabot. The paved boat launch is located on Route 2 in Cabot.
