New Discovery State Park Campground
Open for the 2026 season from May 22 through October 11. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance on a rolling basis. Reservations made more than 7 days out require a two-night minimum; one-night stays are allowed within 7 days of arrival.

About
New Discovery State Park is part of the expansive Groton State Forest, one of the largest contiguous landholdings managed by the State of Vermont. The campground provides a gateway to the forest's extensive trail system, with paths departing directly from camp to scenic overlooks and surrounding ponds including Osmore, Kettle, and Ricker. The park offers diverse camping options across 69 total sites: 33 tent/RV sites, 12 tent-only sites, 15 lean-tos, and 7 remote sites accessible by hiking or paddling to Osmore Pond. Equestrian campers have access to 8 horse-camping sites with hitching racks, corrals, and watering stations. Facilities include flush toilets, hot and cold running water, and coin-operated showers. Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table. Firewood is sold on-site. A Nature Center offers interpretive programs throughout the season. While there are no hookups, an RV dump station is available. The campground can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet depending on the site. Pets are welcome on leash throughout the park.
