Stillwater State Park Campground

Stillwater State Park is one of seven state parks within the 26,000-acre Groton State Forest in northeastern Vermont. The campground sits on the western shore of Lake Groton, offering waterfront access and scenic views of the surrounding hardwood and conifer forests. With 76 sites ranging from tent-only to tent/RV to traditional lean-tos, the park accommodates a variety of camping styles. Facilities include modern restrooms with flush toilets, hot and cold running water, and coin-operated hot showers. An RV sanitary dump station is available, though no hookups are offered at individual sites. Each campsite features a fire ring and picnic table. The park provides trash and recycling services. A swimming beach with a designated swimming area, boat launch and dock, boat rentals, playground, and horseshoe pit round out the recreation options. The Groton Nature Center is within walking distance, and miles of hiking trails connect Stillwater to the other parks in Groton State Forest. Bears are active in the area, so campers should store food and trash securely in vehicles or bear canisters. Pets are allowed on leash throughout the park but are prohibited at the swimming beach.
