About
Mohawk Dam Campground sits along the scenic Walhonding River approximately 15 miles west of Coshocton and 25 miles east of Mount Vernon, Ohio. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this campground offers 31 level, grass-pad sites all equipped with electric hookups. While water and sewer hookups are not available at individual sites, the campground provides potable water collection points, restrooms, gray water stations, and a dump station. Mohawk Dam itself is a dry dam, meaning no permanent pool exists except during flood control operations. The Walhonding River flowing through the area is popular for canoeing and fishing year-round. The campground provides convenient river take-out access for paddlers. Nearby attractions include historic Roscoe Village, a restored canal town in Coshocton.
