* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of east central Ohio, including the following areas, Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson OH, Monroe, Muskingum, Noble and Tuscarawas, Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Allegheny, Beaver, Greene and Washington, and West Virginia, including the following areas, Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Ohio and Wetzel. * WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Dillon Lake Group Picnic Shelter is a day-use facility situated above Dillon Lake, approximately six miles northwest of Zanesville and twenty miles east of Newark, Ohio. The facility is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and provides a scenic setting overlooking the lake, grass-covered hills, and wooded areas. The shelter complex features 10 accessible picnic tables, multiple barbecue grills, a large fenced-in playground, a gazebo, and a fitness trail surrounded by park benches and landscaping. A large parking area is adjacent to the shelter. An accessible fishing pier is located below the dam. This is a reservable group day-use area, not an overnight campground. The shelter and playground areas are not maintained during winter months. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov.
Directions
Located along Route 146, approximately 7 miles north of Zanesville, Ohio. Access Route 146 via State Route 16 from the north or Interstate 70 from the south.
