Closed — Open year-round by reservation only. The campground is currently closed for winter. Operating season runs late May through early September with full amenities including water and electrical hookup at the pavilion.

About

Mink Creek Group Site Campground is situated along Mink Creek at 5,159 feet elevation in the scenic Bannock Mountain Range, just 12 miles south of Pocatello, Idaho. The campground features a single large, ADA-accessible group site that can accommodate up to 200 people, making it ideal for family reunions, weddings, or group retreats. The site includes a 40x80-foot picnic pavilion with concrete base, night lighting, and two electrical outlets, along with 12 large picnic tables, two serving tables, and a large fire ring. A grove of ponderosa pines provides partial shade, while aspens and pines dot the surrounding mountainsides. The West Fork Mink Creek Trail begins just outside the campground and is popular with hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. Additional nearby trails include Corral Creek Trail and Valve House Trail. The area is renowned for birding, with species such as Western Scrub-Jay, Juniper Titmouse, Mountain Bluebird, and Calliope Hummingbirds commonly observed. Cherry Springs Nature Area is nearby with its namesake spring, fishing stream, and paved nature trails. The Mink Creek Nordic Center offers groomed cross-country ski trails in winter. The paved access road ensures easy entry for RVs and vehicles.

Directions

From Pocatello, head southeast on Bannock Highway for approximately 3.7 miles, then continue onto North Mink Creek Road for 5.8 miles to the campground entrance.
