About
Mink Creek Group Site Campground is located 12 miles south of Pocatello, Idaho, in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. The campground sits at 5,159 feet elevation along Mink Creek in the scenic Bannock Mountain Range, with ponderosa pines providing partial shade and aspens dotting the surrounding mountainsides. The single group site accommodates up to 200 people and includes a 40x80-foot pavilion with a concrete base, two electrical outlets, and night lighting. Twelve large picnic tables, two serving tables, and a large fire ring round out the facilities. The paved parking area and accessible vault toilets make this site suitable for larger gatherings. The West Fork Mink Creek Trail begins just outside the campground and is popular with hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. Cherry Springs Nature Area is nearby with fishing, paved nature trails, and picnic facilities. The Mink Creek area is known for excellent birding, with species including Western Scrub-Jay, Mountain Bluebird, and Calliope Hummingbird.
Directions
