About

Goodenough Creek Campground is a free Bureau of Land Management campground situated in the foothills west of McCammon, Idaho in Bannock County. The campground features 13 developed sites split between tent-only camping (5 sites) and mixed-use sites accommodating RVs, trailers, and tents (8 sites). All sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Amenities are basic but functional: vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings are provided. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. There are no dumpsters on site, requiring visitors to pack in and pack out all trash. No hookups, showers, or dump station are available. The campground serves as a gateway to recreation in the surrounding area, with motorized and non-motorized trails leading directly to the Caribou-Targhee National Forest trail system. Popular activities include OHV riding, hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing. The campground underwent renovations in 2019 that expanded capacity for larger recreational vehicles and improved the access road and turnaround areas.

Directions

From McCammon, cross over I-15 and go west about a mile. The road connects to Marsh Creek Road; turn left on Marsh Creek Road and travel about a quarter mile. Take a right onto Green Road. Continue about 2 miles to the recreation area.
